Flagstaff, Ariz., is one of the most famous gateways to the Grand Canyon. Home of Northern Arizona University, the Snowbowl skiing area, and the Lowell Observatory—where the former planet Pluto was discovered—among other tourist sites, Flagstaff has been a destination on Route 66, a stopping off point, and a home for people of all persuasions for generations. And in the near future, it will have a special place for seniors.

Civitas Senior Living, a senior living management company, and Desert Land Group, an Arizona real estate developer, plan to bring a new senior living community to Flagstaff, The Bluffs of Flagstaff, featuring wide ranging care with independent living, assisted living, and memory care all on one campus.

The new, approximately 210,572-sq.ft. community will be located at 3100 East Butler Avenue in East Flagstaff between Continental Golf Club and Pine Canyon. The Bluffs of Flagstaff will feature 120 independent living, 66 assisted living, and 18 memory care apartments for a total of 204 residences and will feature resort-style amenities including an indoor pool, outdoor putting green, pub and lounge, fitness gym, restaurant dining, outdoor cooking area and a dog park.

The Bluffs of Flagstaff will be in a picturesque, heavily forested area that feels secluded. The official groundbreaking for The Bluffs of Flagstaff is October 10. The community’s target opening date is set for February 2021. Architect for the project is Kaas Wilson, general contractor is Greenberg Construction, and the designer is Senior by Design.
