The need for low-income housing, rural housing, and housing for the indigent has been a critical part of construction in the country. A leader in making these communities viable has been Habitat for Humanity. Habitat for Humanity began in 1976 as a grassroots effort in Georgia and today is world renown for its work with volunteers to build homes for those in need.

Families and individuals in need of a hand up partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Through financial support, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability, and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves.

DuPont, a supplier of building materials, has a new corporate partnership with Habitat for Humanity. The partnership enables DuPont to support Habitat for Humanity home building projects with donations of energy-efficient building products, while also providing employees with meaningful volunteer opportunities.

Donated products will include Styrofoam Brand insulation, DuPont Weathermate Homewrap, and Great Stuff Insulating Foam Sealant, worksite staples at Habitat sites across North America. These products provide increased thermal, air and moisture protection, which lowers energy bills and creates more comfortable and safer living conditions for people around the world.

The company also actively supports major Habitat programs like the Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project and the annual Home Builders Blitz.
